Taking care of your nails

Manicures and nail art are there to make your nails beautiful but one also needs to take care of one’s nail by eating right and following a nail care routine.

Believe it or not but your nails reflect what you eat. Keep the protein intake high by having good amount of curds and dals. Avoid keeping your nails in water for too long. Massage your nails with lemon juice once a week especially if your nails are brittle. You can also use almond oil and massage your nails. Go for a simple manicure aleast once a month to keep your nails clean and healthy. If that sounds expensive, you can try nail manicure at home itself! Rub your nails against one another and it helps to strengthen your nails and added benefit: helps to grow your hair as well!

Put some nail cream onto your nails before going to bed and wear gloves when you know your nails can get dirty. Cuticles can hurt a lot especially if you pluck the so go gently. They need to be pampered. People judge you according to the way you take care of your nails so make sure you do not embarrass yourself with poorly managed nails. Check them regularly and trim those down of you feel you cannot maintain them. You can use a nail hardener if your nails are weak and brittle.  And last but not the least, for those who are into the habit of nail biting, keep a caution board to not bite your nails wherever you go!

So, the very first step of caring for your nails or nail designs is consuming a well balanced and nutritious diet.

Manicuring is one of the most beneficial methods of taking good care of nails and hands. During the early stage of nail art and designs women were not aware of manicure and pedicure. As time passed by, women started understanding the concept and significance of manicure. Later women started cleaning and painting their nails through the means of manicure. Manicure is simply defined as a method of shaping nails, hand massage, cuticle care, buffing nails and polishing them to give a well-groomed and neat look. Manicure should be done once in 15 days.

Who likes to see grimy nails? Nobody would like to hear or see grim in their nails. So, it is essential to give hands a scrub using mild soap and warm water. You can use a nail brush to wash out grunge under your nails. Massage your hands well with castor oil or other cleansing agents to get rid of all the grim under and around your nails.

If you are using any form of nail designs on your nails, be cautious of the types of enamels, nail polish removers and other nail accessories you are using. You must know the composition of all the nail adornments before you apply it on your nails. Hunt for non-toxic adornments and avoid the incidence of nail infections.

Nail infections mostly occur when acrylic nails are pasted on original nails. This is because with the passage of time, acrylic nails leave some space between real nails and fake nails. This space absorbs moisture and becomes a hot breeding place of various fungus and bacteria. It is always advisable to monitor your nails and consult a good nail artist before they get crumbly and whitish or yellowish. To maintain the beauty and elegance of various nail adornments, it is essential to take good care of nail designs.
